A local charity giving support and advice to refugee and migrant families in the area. They run a befriending service where volunteers can help with navigating life in the UK and have a food support programme. They also run a drop-in at St Mary’s Church on Watford High Street on Tuesday mornings.

The Office of the Immigration Services Controller is the government office which regulates who can give immigration advice and what advice they can give. Their website has a search tool where you can find approved immigration advisers in your area, with a filter for those giving free advice and those you need to pay for here.

Rights of Women

A charity providing free legal support for women. As well as family and criminal law experts, they also have an immigration team. Rights of Women advise on the rights of EU nationals and their families, as well as applications for asylum and changing your visa if you are a survivor of domestic violence.

Maternity Action

If you are pregnant or have recently given birth, Maternity Action are a national charity offering free advice on a range of issues. They can give advice on claiming asylum and to those with ‘No recourse to public funds’, as well as where to get financial support.
