    National Debtline

    National Debtline is a free debt advice charity, their website and helpline provide advice on a full range of debt issues, including: budgeting, prioritising debts, bailiffs and debt solutions.

    Step Change

    Step Change is a debt charity offering free Debt Management Plans. They can help you make payment offers to creditors and administer those payments for you.

    Payplan

    Payplan is a debt charity offering free Debt Management Plans. They can help you make payment offers to creditors and administer those payments for you. Payplan can be of particular help to self-employed people whose income may be seasonal.

    They can also help with other debt solutions including Debt Relief Orders and IVAs.

    Business Debtline

    Business Debtline are a free debt advice service for the self-employed and small businesses. Their website includes guides, fact sheets, budgeting tools and sample letters to help you write to your creditors.

    Information about bankruptcy, County Court Judgements, claims against insolvent companies.

    When you have more than one debt, you must make sure you’re dealing with the most important ones first.

    Money Helper

    MoneyHelper is a free service provided by the Money and Pensions Service

    Financial Ombudsman Service

    The Financial Ombudsman Service is the UK’s official expert in sorting out problems with financial services.

    This page tells you how to complain to the Ombudsman about a business providing financial services. You must have already made a complaint to the business before you can make a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman.

    Information about Direct Debit; the benefits, how to set up and how to cancel a Direct Debit and how you are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee.

      If you need advice by phone you can call our advice line. This is a Hertfordshire wide service.

      Our advice line is open 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

      We will help you as far as we can with publicly available information and decide on a next step which may include putting you in touch with another organisation or arranging a follow up phone appointment.
