    Choosing an accountant or tax adviser

    If you need help with a tax problem and your income is above £20k per year, you may need to hire a professional tax adviser.

    Tax Help for Older People

    Tax Help for Older People is a charity service from Tax Volunteers that provides free, independent and expert advice and help for older people on lower incomes (£20k gross per annum or less).

    Tax Aid

    TaxAid is a charity that helps people on low incomes when they get into difficulties with their tax affairs.

    TaxAid runs a national helpline, and provides face-to-face services in London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Newcastle upon Tyne. They also give advice via email. These services are available to people who earn £20k per year or less.

      Our advice line is open 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

      We will help you as far as we can with publicly available information and decide on a next step which may include putting you in touch with another organisation or arranging a follow up phone appointment.
